mounting unmounting HD
Hello,
I would like to know if there is a way for SD to mount the ext HD when it's scheduled to backup (at night) and unmount it when it's done. the reason is that I do not want the EXT HD to start up every time I start spotlight or iTunes and other apps that are searching any mounted drive. during a day's work it can be annoying and also harmful i guess to the HD (and noisy). maybe there is a shell script but I do not know anything about shells or scripting...-) thanks migo |

It actually already does this when scheduled. Just eject the drive and we'll mount, copy and then unmount.

OK, you're the boss. I will test it tonight. by the way, when I look at the log files i can only see the first time I did a backup. it doesn't show any off the daily backups and I never know if it ran or not.

Try looking at the log for the schedule, migo -- open the Scheduled Copies window, select the scheduled copy and click "Show Log".
