Surprised....

I recently took my backup drive (Smartdisk Firelite) that I use Super Duper to backup with, to my daughters house to show some iPhoto pictures. When I connected the drive to her iMac, a G5, non Intel, with Leopard (not Snow Leopard) it would not show the iPhoto pictures. Was it because of her iMac not having Snow Leopard?

I have a 2009 iMac with 10.6.3.

Thanks...virg

I'm not sure I understand - how were you trying to get it to 'show' the pictures?

I just tried to open iPhoto on my external drive I brought to her house. I connected the drive with my complete Super Duper backup on it to her iMac and it would not recognize the external drive when I clicked on it. She also uses Super Duper with the Leopard (10.5.2) edition of the software with the same brand of external drive that I use and it works fine.

That's not going to work, Virg. It'll use the data on the startup drive (and potentially convert it to the new format).

You'd basically have to start up from the drive to use its copy of iPhoto and the data... and you can't do that, because the PPC can't run 10.6.
