target won't stick
I've mounted a sparse image on a remote machine and it is gray in the target pull down. It un-grays when I use the option button, but quickly reverts back to "blank" when I select the un-grayed image. I feel like I'm just missing something stupid.
I've verified that the image is read/write. Thanks for the help. |

Are you sure that the image -- and its base volume (where it's stored) -- are both read/write? In other words, can you drop a file onto the image?
And, I'm assuming you're trying to choose the actual mounted volume in the target pop-up, and not the file?

solved
well, you were right. I can't recall that your FAQ mentions that it may be required that the remote volume be configured 777 depending on the user on the other end. That might spark my memory in the future.
Thanks. |

Yeah, I don't think I specifically mentioned that -- most people don't know what the various file permissions are, so the 777 wouldn't mean much to the chmod-less...
