advice on backing up files for the first time

Greetings!

First of all, a big thank you to you for making SuperDuper. It has improved my life much more than most other pieces of software. Since using SD, I'm now properly backed up!

Now the question: I'm moving some things around to bigger drives. So, for example, I'm moving 400GB of media files from Drive1 to Drive2, which is empty.

Is there an advantage to having SD put the files on Drive2? Or is it probably just as good to manually move the files through Finder? The reason I ask, it seems like SD is much slower than the Finder; so I'm wondering if SD is a safer/better way to do this, or does it not make any difference?

Thanks again for a terrific, well-thought-out piece of software!
