Now that I've backed up the OS, how do I. . . .

Sorry for the rather enigmatic title but I couldn't think of what I wanted to say in the space alotted for it. If you might remember, I'm getting a new computer to replace the, well, new one that isn't working properly. I've backed up the OS just like you suggested (which worked great, by the way!) but now I need to know how to "update" the new OS to be a clone of the old one? In other words, I have all my programs and apps securely backed up on my spare drive which I will then install on my new computer. But then, how do I recreate that OS over my new one. Do I have to always boot from the spare drive rather than from the main one or is there a way to install all the old programs over the new OS? Hope this makes sense but it's something that's not covered in the Help files (as fare as I can tell anyway). Thanks again for all your help, Emerson
