I'm actually trying to restore a 10.4.11 image to my internal HD using the .sparseimage created with SD. (I backed the Tiger OS up, then upgraded to Leopard, but needed to "go back" to my old OS/data.)
I'd say this morning I waited about an hour--little wheel spinning the whole time. Re-running the combo updater on the internal HD (which, other than the fact that it won't boot, seems fine) didn't help, either.
