And here's my $.02, again asking for this functionality. Just yesterday I was trying to just copy one little self-contained (i.e. everything needed is totally within the .app package) application. I couldn't because a couple things buried deep had wrong permissions. Yes, blame can be laid at the developer's feet (and s/he will hear from me). And, this is not the first time at all. Sometimes it's necessary to totally logout and login as root. Sometimes it's doable with Synk. But I am all for having an app taking "root" out of my inept hands and that app being the one with which I am familiar. Oh, I can do much in the CLI but would rather not, especially when such an app as SD! is so gratifying to use.
