Failed to enable ownership on Macintosh HD

My apologies if this has been covered, I did search but the only threads are about target disks and this appears to be my built-in hard disk.

I have a late 2015, 21.5 inch retina Mac:

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac16,2
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 3.3 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 16 GB
Boot ROM Version: IM162.0206.B00
SMC Version (system): 2.32f20

Below is the log from today's attempted backup:

| 10:25:31 AM | Info | ......COMMAND => Verifying the integrity of volinfo.database
| 10:25:31 AM | Error | bash: -c: line 2: syntax error: unexpected end of file

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
