I unfortunately don't know. I'm guessing whatever OS it came with - that's typically the case.

You definitely can’t run Mavericks with a new Mac. The old OS doesn’t support the new Mac’s hardware.
It has nothing to do with the partitioning. It has to do with the hardware support in the OS.
