Is there any disadvantage to backing up all files...

Is there any disadvantage to backing up all files (as opposed to just the user files)- other than it taking more space on the external HD?

Question Erasing Hard drive for 6 Hours???

On my very first backup attempt (iMac G5, OS 10.4, 500GB LaCie HD with fire wire), SD has spent 6 hours (and counting) "Erasing LaCie hard drive. Makes no sense to me, especially since I used Disk...
