New MacBook Pro questions
For years, I've been blissfully--and ignorantly--using SuperDuper 2.6.2 (v87) with my aging iBook G4 with nary a problem (it really is a super duper!). Now, it's time to get a new 13-inch MacBook Pro. A couple of questions:
I've been using the older Firewire to update my bootable clone. Should I use the Firewire 800 port on the new MB Pro to create and update my new bootable clone? Or Thunderbolt? Or USB 2.0? (I'll also be getting a new external hard drive for my bootable clone.) Should I update to the newer version of SuperDuper before or after I migrate my stuff to the new MB Pro? Thanks so much for a great product and great support. -Bob |
You definitely have to install the new version, but it doesn't matter if you do so before or after the migration.
FW is just fine to update your backup, but you can use anything available to you, should you wish... |
Thanks a lot, Dave. I appreciate it.
