Bootable Partitions (only on Restart!)

Dave,

System config: G5 1.8 GHz, 512 SDRAM, 150 GB Internal Hard Drive, 500 GB LaCie External Hard Drive, 1 TB LaCie External Hard Drive

Mac OS X 10.3.9

All Drives configured as MAC OS Extended (Journaled)

Created a bootbable backup on the 500 GB drive months ago and confirmed that it would come up as a choice to boot from when holding the Option Button during machine startup.

Just yesterday, created another bootable backup on the 1 TB drive. Now, when I hold down the Option Button at machine Startup (after doing a Shutdown), only the internal hard drive appears as a choice on the screen. However, when I hold down the Option Button on a Restart, all three choices appear on the screen.

Am in the process of preparing my system to upgrade to Tiger OS. Also need to do some rearranging of data since addition of the 1 TB drive. Don't want to go any further until I get some resolution of this bootable issue.

Anxious to hear from you, Dave.

Kyle

Sounds like a peculiarity of the drive, Kyle.

Try unplugging it from the computer, bringing up the Option-boot page, and then plugging the drive in. Press the refresh (circle) button, and I think the drive'll show.

Hope that helps!
