Workflow for Backups- newbie to SuperDuper

Her are my questions, and background information.

My questions: Is this a proper backup plan? If not, what do you suggest?

I now have a Sandbox BU, and, have restarted from the Sandbox partition.

I have a basic backup of my Macintosh HD to my SuperDuper partition, along with one Smart update of this backup.

I have setup another Smart backup of my Macintosh HD to my SuperDuper partition for early in the AM daily.

I plan to continue booting from the Sandbox until I need to re-install any new stuff to the Macintosh HD, and, will use the suggested Desktop folders for this between both "boots".

I have a 500 GB Macintosh HD, and,my external drive is a 300 GB Maxtor OneTouch II using firewire connections. It has a 40 GB partition for the Sandbox, and the rest is for the SuperDuper backups.

Seems perfectly reasonable to me, Bob... remember that you can't use a Sandbox to isolate a "major" OS version with big changes (in other words, don't try to install Leopard on a Sandbox from a base Tiger install).

Thanks, Dave.

It was not clear to me in the user guide as to what to do after creating a Sandbox as far as keeping regular backups.

I also unchecked the schedules of all my saved scripts except for the Mac HD to SuperDuper Smart BU.

I am used to using Retrospect (uugh!) on my Windows PCs so it may be the very simplicity of SuperDuper that is making me ask some simple things. I have Retrospect for the Macintosh, and, it did not leave me with much confidence in what it was doing!. That is why I jumped on to SuperDuper after reading reviews about it.

Yeah, you should always back up the original drive, not the Sandbox....
