Snow Leopard on sale

I just purchased Snow Leopard on Apple's online Apple Store. The emailed confirmation stated that it would be delivered Friday, August 28th.:)

I expect to take delivery Friday, but I won't install it until I hear results from earlier adopters regarding its compatibility with SuperDuper!, Adobe CS4, and Microsoft Office.

See my most recent blog post for SD! and SL news: http://www.shirt-pocket.com/blog.

Dave

Regarding the blog post, it states that new v.2.6 will have "full" SL support. What, if anything, may we infer about v.2.5 compatibility right now? "Sort of..," "OMG, don't do it...," or "well, yes, but a few gotchas?" Etc. Care to comment? (I'm prepared to duck for cover.) :D

Already commented in the one-post-older post on the blog...

Your blog post also says you now directly support the Sparse Bundle image type...

Does this include encrypted bundles?

dnanian 08-25-2009 08:51 AM

We've always supported encrypted images, you just have to create them yourself.

Bluesplinter 08-25-2009 08:55 AM

Sure, that's the way I've been doing it in 2.5... I was just wondering if your new support for bundles in 2.6 would include creating encrypted ones.

I guess by your answer that I'll have to continue doing it the same way. :)

Not a very commonly requested feature, so not really worth the UI complexity at present given the easy workaround...

Dave

Well, now appears that it will apparently VSN be a moot question. Yeah I'd read that post, again the other night, so I take it you are saying it's OK now, subject to the "fsaclctl" potential issue. OK, thanks for the time (especially right now....super busy obviously.)

dnanian 08-27-2009 07:42 AM

The fsaclctl problem isn't a potential issue, it's a real issue. The post gives a workaround, in case we're not done by Friday.

But I expect to be done by Friday. Which doesn't mean we will be... but we should be.

Am not as concerned re. Snow Leopard and SD (I am confident re. SD capability and Dave's ability) however not as confident re. VmWare Fusion - haven't gotten a definite promise from them yet.....:(
