SuperDuper versus Time Machine

My Macbook Air just suffered a complete meltdown (both logic board and hard drive are dead). I have a very current Time Machine backup (basically up to the last minute before the crash) but unfortunately my SuperDuper backup is more than a week old. I am looking for advice on the best and fastest restoration procedure. Shall I clone from SD and then manually restore the most current documents via Time Machine (quite a bit of stuff that accumulates in a course of the week and can I use the TimeMachine interface to look forward in time)? Alternatively, shall I transfer all the docs from the Time Machine backup after the fresh Mac OS installation via the migration assistant (and ignore my SD backup)? Any other options?
Thanks (and sorry for posting the 2nd question of the day).:)

Time Machine makes it very hard to take an older drive and bring it "up to date" unless you know what files you want to restore. In your case, given the age of the SD! backup, I'd restore the whole thing with Time Machine (assuming you've been doing a full backup with it).

Just out of curiosity: why is it that you don't have fresher SD backup? and would a periodical scheduling of SD (similar to that of TM) have helped you getting a more recent SD backup by the time of the crash?

Thanks for your advice.
Yes, a more periodic SD backup would help. I am working from different locations (only one of which has the external hard drives for the backups). Time Machine backs up as soon as I am connecting to the external drive, whereas I usually do "manual" backups with SD (and obviously I keep forgetting to make them every day or even more frequently...)
