SD! + TM question

Hello to everybody as this is my first post on this forum.

I have been using SD! under Tiger for some months and now waiting for the Leopard update. I have just 1, maybe stupid, question concerning the future, Leopard compatible SD!

If I use both tools cloning my main drive weekly to an external FW drive and using the automatic TM backups to another external drive. If my disk crashes I am left with a clone which is, say, 5 days old and a TM backup - 1 hour old.

Is it going to be possible without problems to boot from the clone that is older then TM backup and then "move it forward in time" using TM restore to get as close as possible to the crash point?

Thanks.
Tonden

Don't know, Tonden. It should be possible, but it's hard to know if it'll work in every case (and we didn't write Time Machine, so it's hard to "look and see").

Thanks.

I thought you've had a similiar testing scenario.

There are a lot of possible variations in what happens here: I can't test all of them, unfortunately... and it's difficult to know exactly what TM will do in every situations, since it's a big black box.
