Maxtor One Touch...an easier way, and AppleScripting Copy Jobs

(See FAQ about using Maxtor One Touch)

and instead of using terminal, try this:
- copy your scheduled copies into a new folder called "Executable Copies"
- right-click on a scheduled copy in Executable Copies (e.g. "Smart Update Mac Backup from Mac") and choose "Show Package Contents"
- Select "Copy Job", drag to the "Executable Copies" window, but hold command-option before releasing! This will make a symlink (an alias).
- close the copy file (e.g. "Smart Update Mac Backup from Mac")

Now, you have the executable copy file. Proceed with Maxtor One Touch settings, as before.

You can also run the "Copy Job" scripts from AppleScript. I've made this script which runs three copy jobs at once, since I have three partitions on one drive:

tell application "Finder"
open application file "Copy Job.app" of document file "Smart Update Source Backup from Source.sdsp" of folder "Executable Copies" of folder "SuperDuper!" of folder "Application Support" of folder "Library" of folder "dgross" of folder "Users" of startup disk
open application file "Copy Job.app" of document file "Smart Update Stock Backup from Stock.sdsp" of folder "Executable Copies" of folder "SuperDuper!" of folder "Application Support" of folder "Library" of folder "dgross" of folder "Users" of startup disk
open application file "Copy Job.app" of document file "Smart Update Wibble Backup from Wibble.sdsp" of folder "Executable Copies" of folder "SuperDuper!" of folder "Application Support" of folder "Library" of folder "dgross" of folder "Users" of startup disk
end tell

tell application "SuperDuper!"
quit
end tell
