Backing up TimeMachine with SD

Hi,

i know the Leopard version of SD is in the workings. this questions is rather conceptual than a problem.

On my Powerbook I have limited storage for all the video and photos I edit thus i have to regularly move them to an external drive and free some internal storage. But doing it manually or with SD I usually loose track of what is where.
My idea is to extend the storage of the internal drive through time machine where the deleted files live on. Obviously it's not a true backup anymore since the time machine version now hosts unique files.
To get a backup of the whole thing: internal and extended (time machine) drive. I would like to use SD to backup the TM version to yet another drive to add redundancy.
Does this work out?

It's one of the things we're working to make happen, and is more complicated than you might think.
