GUID or Apple Partition Map quandary
 

My other question is about formatting the external drive.

As my PPC laptop is likely to be replaced soon with an Intel laptop (but the desktop remaining as a PPC), should I format the external firewire drive using GUID or Apple Partition Map?

There seems to be conflicting opinion as to whether a PPC can be booted from an SD clone under GUID or the Intel from Apple Partition Map.

Any advice gratefully received.

Power PC drives need to be partitioned as Apple Partition Map. Once you transition to Intel, you can repartition with GUID.
