Does Superduper! repair directory?
I have recently seen it suggested that file level cloning as done by Superduper! effectively repairs directory errors because the clone process creates a new directory into which files are copied. In this respect it is (partially?) equivalent to a repair by Disk Utility. Block level cloning obviously doesn't do this.
To what extent is this true? Thanks Mike |
It's certainly true that -- if the files are readable -- we copy to an entirely different folder structure, and thus avoid some errors that can be present.
