I am having a problem crop up and I am wondering if you have any solutions? Thanks!

Hi, bigworld.

It looks to me like you've probably got a directory structure or disk problem with one of your font caches.

To correct the problem, the first thing I'd do is boot from your OS install disc (whatever version you're running -- if Tiger, boot from that), and -- when the installer comes up -- choose "Disk Utility" from the installer application menu.

Then, repair the drive structure (not permissions -- the actual disk).

Once done, try the backup again. If that doesn't help, try using Finder to delete everything in that folder that starts with "fontTablesAnnex" and rebooting.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Your 2nd suggestion worked. repairing the disk didn't work so trashing the file did. Thanks!
