Original and target volumes won't boot

Hello,
I created a backup volume of my G4 Powerbook HD (OSX 10.5.8) onto an external FW. Now neither the original G4 nor the clone will boot. I ran Disk Warrior on both of them and after rebuilding the directory, got a clean bill of health. But still neither will boot. I just get the gray Apple screen, with no spinning wheel. This includes trying to use the clone to boot another computer (a G5 Power Mac). Thanks for any help,
Steve

Simply copying from a drive doesn't change the source at all, Steve - I can't see how it would make it unbootable unless you had terrible luck and the drive died while being copied. Does it start up in safe boot?
