Replacing HD on MBP -- how to restore?
This may be a stupid question, but this is why I have SuperDuper. My internal HD rapidly and without warning failed. Thankfully, I did a SD back up shortly before the crash.
I am now going to install a new HD in my MBP. So, do I install the HD, and then boot from my external drive (which, by the way, is a USB drive), and then use SD to bring everything over? Or, do I install the new drive, boot from 10.6 disc, and then do a copy function? Or, do I install the new drive into an enclosure and do the copy that way? Thanks, Boris |
You install the new HD, boot from your external, properly partition/format the new drive (see the top FAQ at Help > Frequently Asked Questions), and restore with SuperDuper. Should be quite easy.

Worked flawlessly, as always.
Thanks for the great software! Boris |
