SuperDuper Superiority to Restore?

Running OSX 10.4.11, I'm wondering about the difference between SD!s backup it produces as opposed to the Restore option in Disk Utility. In SD, i just use the simple erase and copy method, rather than a smart update or the like. Also, I'm making my bootable backup out of a sparse image, that way i have no need to partition my external hard drive while utilizing maximum space. Can Restore handle this operation?

I have no intentions of getting rid of SuperDuper because it is such a great program with a simple UI. I just want to add this little nugget to my mac knowledge.

Thanks!

The "Restore" option does a low-level copy of the drive, sector by sector, from source to destination. You can only do it when you're not running from the drive... and everything on the drive, including any folder corruption (etc) will be copied.
