Sandbox question
Dave,
I recently updated my Sandbox from my HD, but inadvertantly chose "shared users and applications" when I had intended to only do "shared users". One of my main uses of the Sandbox is to try out software updates with non-Apple programs or even Apple Pro applications that SuperDuper doesn't copy to the sandbox under the "shared users and applications" script. So I thought I could reboot from the HD, and then simply to an "erase, then copy..." to create a new Sandbox using the "shared users" only script. However, it occurred to me that there may be a way to choose which applications get copied to the Sandbox, and which don't. Is this possible, is it advisable, and what are the issues I should be aware of if it is? Thanks Chris |
Yes, you can do that by creating your own copy script, including ours as a base, and sharing what you wish.
In general, you shouldn't share applications that might be updated by a system update. |
