Restore from clone or TM?
 

My MacBook's HD died. There were two volumes on it. I had Time Machine running that day and have SuperDuper clones of both from last week.

Is there any point to restoring from the clone before restoring from TM?

There's certainly a point to starting up from the copy and working from it, yes. But if you've already replaced the drive, and the SD! copies are a week out of date, TM isn't going to be smart enough to only restore the changes (as far as I know - it's a black box, so it's hard to know for sure).
