Suggestion: customize your Growl "Failed" notifications
 

I had a scheduled copy fail the past two mornings at 4:30 am. I didn't realize it until this morning because the failure message, at quick glance, looks very similar to the Growl success report I dismiss every morning.

To make sure I notice the next time, I just customized my Growl prefs to show SuperDuper! "Copy Failed" and "Scheduled Copy Failed" messages with a different display style -- NotifyOS9 in bold yellow is a shocking difference from my default pale blue Bubbles.
