Superduper to the rescue, but how?

I bought superduper, got a lacie hd, backed up my macbook, and a week later my hd crashed. First time in 15 years. Perfect timing:)

So I got my macbook back today. New clean harddrive with only the OS. I really don't want to make a mistake getting the my stuff back on the new hd, but I can't find any information on this, as simple as it sounds.

Do I boot up the new clean OS, download superduper, connect it with my external hd and just bring everything from my external hd to my new hd?

I'm sure there's already info on this topic. If someone just wants to point me to that info, that would be fine.

Thanks in advance.

The basic steps for this are in the "Recovering from a disaster" section of the User's Guide, Dan. Basically, you're going to start up from your backup, and simply use SuperDuper! to copy things back to the drive.

Alternatively, you can start up from the new, clean OS, and then -- during the first start up -- use the Migration Assistant to migrate from your backup back to the new drive.

Make sense?

Makes perfect sense dan. Just used the Migration Assistant on bootup.

Thanks for your help. Superduper worked great.

Glad to hear it, Dan. Congratulations!
