Minor concerns regarding SuperDuper
First of all, I'm a new registered user of SuperDuper, and so far I'm impressed by the quality of this great application. I do, however, have three minor concerns regarding using SuperDuper on a daily basis.
1) For the current and all future versions of SuperDuper, will SuperDuper modify the source volume in any way during a backup or smart update operation and therefore putting it at risk for corruption? 2) After I quit the SuperDuper application, does SuperDuper continue to run in the background in order to support features like SmartUpdate or SafetyClone? Or does it install any system-level hacks to support its operation? 3) Is it recommended to do a "erase and backup" once in a while after several Smart Updates? Thanks, Eric |
Hi, Eric... more answers!
1. No, we don't modify the source volume, except -- of course -- by writing our own plist and doing logging. 2. No, SuperDuper! doesn't have any background processes. There are no hacks at all: we're a normal application. 3. You don't need to, no... Hope that helps! |
