Failed to preserve Spotlight state on ... (target disc)

Hello guys,

I'm really annoyed by this message all the time.
What does that mean? The information the logfile provides is for me also not understandable...What can I do?
The target disc is fresh formatted... so whats the problem...?
There is no spotlight information worth to be preserved !!!
Why can this tool not simply do its job?

Carbon copy cloner works perfect with the same discs and adjustments....

Thanks for answer...

Sounds like you have more than one backup scheduled for the exact same time under Leopard. Leopard, in some situations, allows more than one copy of SD! to run, even though it's marked to not do that.

To resolve the problem, change one of the schedules to run one minute before the others.

We're working around the problem in the next update.

Thanks... but...

Thanks Dave for your reply.
But it is not like you assumed.
I just formatted a new HDD with Disc Utility for usage as a target disc. Then I started SD to backup my startup disc... and I have always the same problem.
No schedules or multi-copies of SD running.
Have no idea what to do anymore...

I'd need to see the log; perhaps you'll send it to me at the support email address using the "Send to shirt pocket" button.

Okay, I'll do it...

Hi Dave,

I tried to send you the log-file via email, (send to shirt-pocket button) but I don't wanna give you free access to any specified content of my keychain as SD asked me for ... sorry bad idea ... no go ...

instead I took a screenshot of the error message and the logfile...

hope it will work...and thanks for your efforts...

You're not giving me 'free access' to the keychain: that's the system messaging framework requesting access to your outgoing mail information. We don't touch your keychain in any other way.
