Recover data from SD backup with scheduled smart update on connect set?
 

I have an external disk that I backup onto using a SD scheduled smart update set to run when the external disk is connected.

I need to recover some files from the external hard disk.

I want to make sure I am not going to overwrite the data on the external disk when I plug it in.

Is the correct procedure for this to click "Cancel" when SD launches? What's the next best way to make SURE SD doesn't somehow manage to write to the disk?

Yes, you can cancel it, or you could also turn off that part of the schedule, right?
