we have a partitioned ext hard drive we use to backup a few computers in our office. We've never had an issue backing up our office manager's imac but in the most recent attempt we got this error message:

| 09:30:58 AM | Error | SDCopy: Error copying /var/folders/gp/61pl8fbj2hbc9zdd6058mrr40000gn/T/com.blacey.SuperDuper/BF53E346-CF8C-405F-B29C-E51EFA3BD0FC/snapshot/Library/Widgets/Movies.wdgt/img/_scroll/marquee_top@2x.png to /Volumes/Office_Mgr/Library/Widgets/Movies.wdgt/img/_scroll/marquee_top@2x.png of type 8 due to error 5: Input/output error

We sent the log to ShirtPocket but I also thought I'd post here to see if anyone has any ideas. We were doing a smart update. We're now trying a full erase and copy to see if that works.

If you've sent a log, I've analyzed it and have replied - as I recall, it's a write error to a destination drive that's having problems.
