In the 'User Guide' I can't find how to restore - from my back up firewire drive to my Macintosh HD - a single file/item, such as an application. For example, I want to retrieve a single, older version, application that was saved before an update that is not compatible for any reason.

Please advise me how to do this. Thanks.

If it's a drag-and-drop application, just copy it back with Finder.
