I installed a new hard drive in my Intel iMac.

After I used Disk Utilities and dragged the hard drive icon (from the desktop) ,that was my Super Duper backup, on to the Source and the new internal hard drive onto the Destination. About nine hours later I got what looked like I thought it would. The two drives were on the desktop and it looked just like it did before the drive change.

When I went to change the start up drive to the new drive I got a circle with a line through it. I think at some point I got the computer to go back to where it was before (command option PR ???) but still have the problem when I start to change the start up disk. I get a dialog box that says "you can't change the startup disk to the selected disk, The bless tool was unable to set current boot disk".

Looked up Bless Tool on this forum but couldn't find answer.

thanks

Did you properly partition the drive before the restore? Any reason you didn't restore with SuperDuper?

Well... no I didn't partition the drive and didn't use SuperDuper the way it should be used. I went back and did it correctly. SuperDuper did a great job restoring and in far less time. Thanks
