10.5.8: SuperDuper hung after completing backup? what to do?

( normally I search before posting, but this forum is slow to load pages this morn, presumably because people are using it! )

Bought a new disk yesterday, reformatted it with GUID, called it Electric_Eye (do you like Judas Priest?).

Cloned a disk named THOR to Electric_Eye, both external USB. it completed in 7 hours, but apparently during restore spotlight on new disk it hung. Since it's new, I don't think the spotlight state is of much concern. Safe to force quit SD? Or some diagnostic information that you want?

The plot thickens: I thought of checking Console > all messages. Searching for "mdworker" got this. So a JPEG or Font or both, from an ooooollllld archive folder (from an OS 9 Mac) caused mdworker to hiccup. Did SuperDuper call on mdworker, and now can't deal with the error? What would you recommend?

Honestly, I don't remember the exact solution, but mdworker is just spotlight indexing the data...
