For some reason I can't make a backup anymore. I get almost to the end but then get an error message. Here's the log:

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Looks like you're having an I/O error in that file, PDE.

I think, in this case, I'd suggest rebuilding the launch services cache. Here's a short article about how to do it from macosxhints (http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20031215144430486).

Well, it worked around the problem, but the real question is why there was an I/O error in the file in the first place... make sure you have SMART Reporter installed, just in case the drive is having issues, OK?
