View Full Version : Script suggestion

OK - I know I'm new here and I don't wish to be annoying but I have been doing quite a bit of reading of the forum topics and it occurs to me that there are a lot of posts to do with scripting, including my own.

Dave - would it be a good idea to have an area of your website where scripts (under relevant headings?) could be kept and downloaded by users? This would perhaps help those of us who are not familiar with AppleScript and / or Automator to achieve our desired goals. In addition, a basic 'How To' tutorial in, say, .pdf format?

More work, I know, but then possibly yet another good customer service point.

I don't think there are many scripts that people are using (I can only think of about two), so I'm not sure a totally separate download section or section of the forum would necessarily be helpful...

As far as a How To guide goes, though -- it's a huge topic, and significantly outside the scope of what I can provide. But there are a lot of books and resources on the 'net that cover shell scripting and AppleScripts!

Anyone have any books in particular they're like to recommend?

Hi Tim

Their are some great forums relating to Applescript, I have found the help from these forums invaluable in my continuing learning curve of Applescript.
