View Full Version : Learning more about Super Duper and backups in general

I am new to Macs, a refugee from PCs. Just downloaded Super Duper and did my first BU and established a schedule for regular BUs. All's well so far, but I find myself missing a log to review to see if the BU in the wee hours this AM as it should have. Does Super Duper have a log function? Is one planned?

On a separate topic: the matter of archiving. The only time I got into trouble with a PC was when I found a folder supposedly with valuable data was empty. I don't know what happened but my salvation was an archival BU system that allowed be to go back to a prior BU several months earlier and retrieve the data. It was a life-saver. Does Super Duper have any plans for an archival BU?

If you install Growl (http://www.growl.info), we fully support it, and you can use that to easily inform you if your backups succeeded or failed.

As far as archives go, please see the Introduction to the User's Guide (Help > User's Guide): that explains my general philosophy.
