One of the neatest features of NetTunes is the way it transmits keyboard shortcuts for iTunes menu commands. This is particularly useful to me, since I am running a NetTunes server without a monitor or keyboard (see another thread for some more details on how to do this). I can type command-Y to change iTunes preferences on the server, or I can upload mp3's to the server over the network, then type command-O to add them to my iTunes library.

However, this is also the one aspect of netTunes that is the least intuitive. I keep finding myself running iTunes locally just so that I can look up the keyboard commands on the menus. Perhaps in a future update, you could add a menu? Maybe a single hierarchical "iTunes" menu listing the commands that work?

I'm currently working on doing some work under Jaguar to allow the entire iTunes menu to be remoted from the server to the client...stay tuned.

Does that mean that Jaguar will be required? I'm still not sure how fast I'm going to roll out Jaguar to our computers. Even though we get an academic discount, it adds up. I'll have to be convinced that Jaguar will really improve our daily work.

The required APIs for doing it in a documented way are, indeed, only in Jaguar...

I think you're going to find that Jaguar, in general, is much better than previous versions of OS X. You'll see for yourself in a few days!
