how to configure super duper w/ mac + pc network

i have used super duper with a new '09 imac on hard wire ethernet - very trouble free and simple.

a friend has a new intel mac book (10.5.8 soon 10.6.2) and an older pc running vista. he has no b/u except for burned dvds for a few key files. he has a wi-fi local network in his home. he would like to have the same back up service i have on his two machines. he has no need for frequent backup provided by time machine - but if time machine is best way to go that is fine.

a simple way to go:
- is to do super duper w/ new OWC HD for the mac - use fw if avail, if not usb2
- do a sep bu (s/w suggestions) for the pc

my friend would like to do both machine b/u simultaneously if the method is simple and reliable.

suggestions/comments solicited.
