Rotating monthly drives

I want to create a monthly backup to an external drive. I also want to rotate the physical drive.

I tried naming the two drives "Monthly Backup", but SD must use the unique drive ID not the "friendly" name to ID the drive so when I swapped the drives SD couldnt find the second drive.

I would settle for two separate scheduled events if I could schedule every other month somehow, but would prefer to have it back up to either monthly backup drive that was connected.

Any ideas
