Superduper fails during copy of extensions folder

All...I've come across a strange problem with SD and trying to figure out what is the issue. Each and every time I attempt a backup to my one-touch Maxtor 300GB hard drive, the backup fails with the following or similar log message:

| 11:04:11 PM | Error | ditto: /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonGLDriver.bundle/Contents/MacOS/./ATIRadeonGLDriver: Input/output error

The backup seems to fail on multiple "ATI..." files as I've had this problem with 10 or so different files located in the /System/Libray/Extensions/ sub-directory. Each time, I remove the file to another location and retry with a Smart backup, only to have it choke in the next ATI file.

Has anyone else come across this?

I'm using Smartbackup with a diskimage file located on the external firewire drive.

Have you tried copying the ATIRadeonGLDriver.bundle to a different location to see if you get an error? If not, it's likely that the problem is on the destination -- for example, if your image is being stored on a drive that can't handle large files, or if the underlying volume is failing...

If you can't copy it without errors, you'll need to archive-and-install the OS, since these files are damaged...
