Scheduling problem

I have been using SD for years with no problem. Now I can't get my schedules to work the way I want. I have to be doing something stupid! I am running SD 2.7.3 (v93) on OS X 10.9.5 on a Macbook Pro 15" mid 2012. I have 2 settings files. A is erase backup clone (erase destination which is external, and backup all files). B is incremental clone backup (backup all files to destination using smart update). What I want to accomplish is: the first weekend of the month that my external drive is plugged in, do an erase destination backup all (A). On any weekday that external is plugged in, do a smart update backup (B). I load settings for A and setup schedule no problem. I load settings for B and setup schedule. It does not setup a new schedule, but acts like an edit of the first schedule. What am I doing wrong that I cannot setup 2 schedules?
