Need to recover a backed up iPhoto library

I have had an iPhoto library crash and burn, luckily I backed it up to ext. HD just before I started messing with it. I just want to delete the old one, and copy the backed up one across. Stupid question, but do i just drag and drop it from backup disk to location on main machine? I can't believe it's that simple so am checking with you guys.

I have iPhoto library manager but don't ask me to rebuild using that as it takes forever and then it is missing about 500 pictures.

Help mucho appreciated.
