A kitty swallowed my icon!

I see in the archives that this was discussed a while back but I didn't see any real answers. This was never an issue for me until now.

I'm running 10.4.11 on an eMac.

I just updated to SD v2.5 (from 2.1 I think) and smart backup now changes my external partition icon from the Firewire icon to a cute kitty's head. Deleting it is only temporary until the next backup.

Why is this happening and how can I stop it? Where is this icon coming from?

It's quite likely actually on the drive. Try setting the icon to something else, then deleting the icon from "Get Info".

Looks like that did it, thanks.

I discovered that the ownership on that partition was locked so I unlocked it.

I'm sure you are right that the kitty icon exists somewhere on my drive but I don't remember seeing it.

Thanks again.
