A perfect Save and Restore with one tiny hitch

SD just saved my ass with a nearly perfect restore of my regularly scheduled back-up of my Mac Pro's raid. It took a while to load the data back on from the external FW800 back-up but it did so with no issue.

The one problem is that I had set the restore to set the raid as the start-up disk. It did so but the machine did not correctly boot into the OS from the restored Raid. It hung and then got the "No Apple" emblem above the gear.

I booted flawless from the back-up, set the start up disk manually in prefs after re-verifying all aspects of the raid and restored data. The machine then booted perfectly upon restart.

Any Ideas what might have happened?
