64-bit - Good Idea?

I have installed 2.6.2 on SL. Looks to be working fine, thank you. I noticed it is not 64-bit. Would there be much gained by having 64-bit version? Is it just a matter of recompiling or would there have to be extensive work?

Thanks

There's no real reason to make SuperDuper! 64-bit, Smitty.

Surely Dave with High Sierra about to be launched 64bit must be the way to go?
