new SD clone not in start-up disks

Hi all,

About to upgrade to Snow Leopard, so I duped my start up disk to a USB2 disk in case Snow Leopard goes haywire.

All of the SD status indicators, including Make Bootable, were green at the end of the process.

But when I restarted (for good luck!) and plugged in the USB2 disk, it doesn't appear in the start up disk window.

Any ideas?

FWIW it was originally a MSDOS FAT disk that I reformatted to HFS+ journaled using Disk Tools.

Also, Disk Tools shows the disk partition map scheme as master boot record...

I figured SD would take care of all the permissions and other issues so the disk would be a valid start up disk, am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!

-Chris
