Will SD 2.5 work with CalDigit VR eSATA / Leopard?
Hi,
I was just wondering if SD will make a bootable backup of my MacPro's main Leopard boot drive using a CalDigit VR RAID 1 External eSATA drive? Will SD still make a complete bootable backup even though it is running from the OS drive it is backing up? Locked or files in use will not be a problem? Is SuperDuper a better way to go than Time Machine? I am unlikely to delete a file.... but a drive crash WILL happen sooner or later. |
We're happy to create the backup, yes, but whether or not it's bootable will depend on whether your eSATA card supports startup.
And, yes: SuperDuper! creates a directly bootable backup, something TM doesn't do. See my "Time's Arrow" post at the Shirt Pocket blog. |
