Suggested strategy to clone one MacBook Air to another?
I've got two identical new MacBook Airs - I'd like to get one set up with software, config, etc, then clone that one onto the other.
Is this as simple as? 1. Configure MBA 1 2. Use SD on MBA 1 to backup to USB external drive 3. Boot MBA 2 using Recovery mode 4. Connect USB external drive to MBA 2 5. Direct MBA 2 to reinstall from USB backup Or am I missing some important step? |
Probably even better to boot from the backup and restore with SuperDuper.

So better process would be:
1. Configure MBA 1 2. Use SD on MBA 1 to copy internal drive to USB external drive 3. Connect MBA 2 to USB external drive 4. Boot MBA 2 using from USB external drive 5. Run SD on MBA 2 and copy USB drive to MBA 2 internal drive I wasn't clear that SD could copy the drive it is running on to another drive - if so, that is cool! |
Yep, after all, you're doing that when you back up too, right?
